As 2024 draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve been on this year at ScanReach. Building a business is no small feat—it demands perseverance, collaboration, and unwavering belief. This year has reminded me just how much it takes to transition from a daring startup to an established player in the maritime industry. It’s not just about innovation; it’s about people—our team, our clients, and our partners—all working together toward a shared vision.
2024 has been a year of milestones, achievements, and progress. A standout moment was winning the OSJ (Offshore Support Journal) Safety Award, an honour made possible by Olympic Subsea ASA, who put us forward for their use of our Connect POB solution. Their belief in our technology was a defining moment, reinforcing the very reason we do what we do: to make the maritime industry smarter and safer.
The ever-evolving Onboard Wireless Connectivity (OWC) service has been enhanced with explosion-proof nodes, making it possible to safely deploy in EX areas such as tanker decks and engine rooms. Furthermore, the addition of generic Bluetooth capability allows our users to connect a wide range of BLE sensors, offering even more flexibility to both new and existing customers. These advancements reflect our ongoing commitment to creating technology that makes a real difference in the lives of those working at sea. We’ve also expanded the Connect POB system to accommodation vessels, giving our clients deeper insights into personnel movement, occupancy, and safety compliance.
It hasn’t been easy, but that’s the beauty of growth—it forges bonds. Every challenge we’ve faced has brought us closer to our clients, our business partners, and one another as a team.
